Matthew Hick

Matthew Hick is Head of Volunteering at Science Museum Group (SMG) and founder of the Heritage Volunteering Group (HVG). He has worked in Volunteer Management for 17 years. As Volunteer Coordinator, Matt transformed volunteering at the National Railway Museum before taking on his current role, where he’s responsible for the strategic development of volunteering across SMG. As founder and Chair of HVG, Matt has also worked with colleagues to oversee the development of the group since its inception in 2014. Matt is a former Chair of York CVS, a Governor for Sphere Federation, and an avid Parkrunner and Parkrun volunteer.
